This series of experimental abstract paintings were begun in January 1986, and
continued on well into the year. They began with the use of crumpled paper to
apply colour, first to board and then into some 3D works.

Later I began to experiment with dripping and flicking paint in a semi-controlled
way to build up textured patterns. On some suggested forms were picked out
and enhanced with colour washes.

Others were done on a only a light lattice of flicked or dripped paint using
brushwork to create the form. Others were built entirely from using the technique,
thereby building up a rich textured surface.

Due to the compromise of image quality against download time , this cannot be
seen in the images. To give an idea of this I have included some close ups. Just

to appear.
